This ain’t over. Well, yeah, it is, kinda.

A fine day to you, listeners. Leslie Gornstein here. Not the Fame Fatale, not the Answer Bitch (or even the Answer B!tch). It’s just me. And I have some sad news.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to put the Fame Fatale podcast on hiatus.

I’m close to tears as I write this. Those of you who discovered me during my stint at E! know that I’ve been doing this gig for a very long time. It’s hard to let go, but here’s the reality: A podcast like The Fame Fatale requires in-depth reporting and source development, the kind of intel that you just can’t get by skimming Deadline Hollywood and The Wrap every morning. And as the months have gone by, it’s grown increasingly more difficult to find and cultivate those sources without a major entertainment brand like E! at my back. People hear you’re from E! or Yahoo! TV or even the Los Angeles Times, and they’re ready to play. But the Fame Fatale podcast — it just doesn’t have that same ring to Tom Cruise’s lawyers.

I didn’t want to continue the podcast without being able to deliver the level of reporting I think the Fame Fatale, and its listeners, are worth.

And thank you—really, thank you—for being the smartest, most plugged-in, critically thinking listeners a reporter like me could ask for.

I hope to come back to you someday.

  1. Thank you Leslie for all the great insider knowledge. While I drink my 50 Shades Of Grey Wine, I will dedicate my viewing of the HBO Scientology Documentary after you.

  2. Leslie,
I've very much enjoyed following your from E! to this outpost on the web. Thank you providing information, unbridled snark, and entertainment all these years. Here's hoping that you can come back in all your online glory sometime very soon!

  4. I hope you come back, even if it's not a celebrity/entertainment based podcast. I love your sense of humor, and hope to hear you doing something else.

  6. Sad to hear this and will miss you immensely :(

Maybe consider a "This week in Entertainment News" podcast, Fatal styles? I'd listen to that...

But if you have to go - go and prosper! I wish you the best of the best lady.

  9. Sad news. I have truly enjoyed your podcasts all the way since E! Now doing the dishes will no longer be a fun, relaxing activity. Best of luck to you and thank you for the good times.

  10. I'm very, very, very upset by this news. A couple years back I lost your answer bitch podcast when I got a new hard drive. I finally found the Feme Fatale just in January of this year maybe and was so excited that you were still around until I noticed that you stopped posting. I'm gutted that you've decided to stop but at least I have your entire archive which I will listen to from episode 1 to now. I really hope we get to hear from you soon! You're very much missed xx

  11. Just looked you up - hoping that you had just taken a month long vacation to Italy. Sorry to hear the podcast is on hiatus. I bought my first iPod to be able to download your show that I had heard over XMradio. Really I would have kept listening even if your podcast covered completely different topics. Since you taught us already how Hollywood really works - please come back some day and school us on whatever you get into next. Thanks Leslie
